Learn Apologetics and Defend the Chrisian Faith!

Once you are have a strong foundation in sharing the biblical gospel message, you should begin to train in apologetics.

What is "Apologetics"? Pronunciation Key
(-pl-jtks)
n. (used with a sing. verb)

  1. The branch of theology that is concerned with defending or proving the truth of Christian doctrines.
  2. Formal argumentation in defense of something, such as a position or system.

Apologetics gives an answer for why believe. This is a biblical command. 1 Pet. 3:15 says, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: "

Note that apologetics is simply the "bait", which we use to help non-Christians understand that what we believe is realistic, logical, livable, and provable. The biblical gospel of Jesus Christ is the "hook", which catches the fish. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16

Also, remember that the moral law (10 commandments) were designed to show people their sin and to convict the conscience, which lies in every man. Do not supplement apologetics for the law. Apologetics deals with the intellect, while the law convicts the conscience, and softens the hardened soil of the heart, so that they seed of the gospel may be planted in fertile soil.
